This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about building a global movement for social justice, particularly with regard to climate change and tax justice. You will have prior experience of advocacy or campaigning and of working in networks or coalitions. You will have a knack for identifying new and strategic relationships and for strengthening our existing ones. Ideally you will have an understanding of Christian Aid’s partner-based approach. You can communicate effectively in English and also in either Spanish or French.
This post is responsible for developing Christian Aid’s international campaigning initiatives and strategic relationships with international partners for campaigning purposes. It provides the strategic link between Christian Aid and its partners and allies with regard to global movement-building. The post-holder supports, promotes, facilitates and (when appropriate) coordinates international campaign activities related to Christian Aid’s two corporate campaigns. S/he also ensures there is coherence between Christian Aid’s campaigns in the UK and its international campaign activities.
You will need experience of working in advocacy, campaigning or communications in an NGO, public policy or similar environment; proven experience of building constructive working relationships with diverse stakeholders, and of coordinating campaign activities in networks or coalitions. Ability to speak Spanish or French and English and be able to communicate complex issues simply, both verbally and in writing.
Familiarity with the politics of international development, global political economy and/or rights-based approaches. Postgraduate qualification in relevant social science, law or development studies, or commensurate experience.
