Norlha, an apolitical, non-religious NGO, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, aimed at fostering sustainable development and reducing poverty in the Himalayas through projects carried out on the local and artisan care in the areas of health, agriculture, environment and education. The organization actively supports impoverished communities with the long-term goal of achieving economic self-sufficiency and the preservation of their dignity.
In order to strengthen support to its field operations provided at Norlha is looking for a:
Environmental management program
Volunteering or internship position, full-time or part-time (30% min)
Job description:
• Recruit employees (officers) Norlha Lausanne Office
• Official Program Guide and monitor the activities of project management and coordinate their work programmatically
• Ensure cooperation with other related programs (for intersectoral projects) and departments within Norlha (fundraising, communication, Administration)
• Develop new projects in line with the strategic plan of Norlha, along to superiors and field partners; take a leading role in the preparation of project proposals and identifying potential donors
• Monitor and coordinate financial planning and expenditure of the projects
• Promote effective partnerships with local and international organizations for the realization of the project
Candidate profile:
• Enthusiasm for being responsible for a team of volunteers and preferably having some experience in this field.
• Experience in managing development projects (for example: identification, proposal writing, financial management, monitoring and evaluation of the project)
• Willingness to train or official program guide and bring your professional experience (preferably in a field of work related to the environment) for the Organization
• Fluency and writing skills in English (language of work), French an asset
• Good research and computer skills
• Motivation to invest themselves fully in this occasion
• Dynamism, autonomy, quality, analytical and synthetic ability of editing
• Excellent inter personal skills

Details of assignment:
• Duration: 9 months min.
• Expected start of assignment: August
• Working time: min 30% with flexible working hours
• Home Work mainly with occasional meetings at the Office of Norlha in Lausanne.
NB: This volunteer position long-term, part-time or internship is not paid.
