Europe NGO jobs vacancies HABITAT for humanity INTERNATIONAL (HFHI) is looking for an experienced communications professional for the position of Director, communications-Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). Reporting to the Vice President of the EMEA region, with cross-functional reports to HQ-based Senior Director-International Communications, the Director, communications – EMEA is responsible for managing and creative leadership of the Habitat for humanity brand in the EMEA region. The Communications Director is a member of the EMEA management team responsible for the overall strategic direction and success of Habitat's work in the area. The Director, communications are responsible for the brand – the development of systems and resources to spread the good news – habitats and brand protection – advise on and implement strategies to preserve the integrity of the Habitat logo and name. The work of the Director, communications and communications EMEA team involves dealing with a wide range of internal and external audiences including existing and potential donors, Habitat staff and supporters, as well as a wider audience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Advise and support regional area management team as it pursues its objectives. This includes advice on the creation and implementation of communication strategies of the entire area and brand building campaigns, media relations, special events, fund raising, real estate finance, appropriate technologies, volunteer mobilization, advocacy, crisis communication; and the provision of consistent communication messages and materials to support these tasks.
• National: advise the national organisations of habitats in the EMEA region as they pursue their goals. This includes advice on creating and implementing communications and marketing strategies and campaigns for brand building, fund raising, volunteer mobilization, advocacy, crisis communication; and the provision of communication messages, tools, techniques and training, in line with the strategy and direction of global communication.
• Global: are EMEA global communications team in creating and implementing Habitat worldwide brand building, marketing initiatives and advocacy and campaigns. This includes devising strategies to roll-out the EMEA; liaises with and sharing with peers in other parts of the Habitat; and coordinate and collaborate with the team HQ communication on global strategies and initiatives.
• Messaging: guide the communication zone team in creating and providing clear and consistent information on housing and Habitat work in the EMEA region for use throughout the network of habitats; adapt its global systems and information for the public by Habitat in EMEA.
• Management: lead and inspire the team of communication professionals area; process protocols, assign responsibilities and assess performance against agreed criteria; develop and manage the team and demands of communication within the budget agreed by the Vice President.
• Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Vice President.
REQUIREMENTS Europe NGO jobs vacancies:
* Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related field. * 10 + years progressive experience in managing communications, and media, with a strong focus on brand building and fundraising.*A strong background in senior level as a professional communication, preferably with an international development organization, with experience working on projects in Europe and Africa. * Solid experience in journalism and corporate communications/public relations, preferably including management leader. * events, management Experience and inspiring staff communications. * Ability to design and produce quality work in tight deadlines. * Strong presentation skills and reporting. * Excellent English writing and editing skills. * Knowledge of another European language, preferably French or German scholar. * Computer with proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Ability to train other means of communication and brand building skills. * Experience working in a multicultural environment. * Willingness, multi-ethnic and multi-faith to drive and to affirm the Christian mission and principles of HFHI.
