International Medical Corps UK is moving into an exciting time of expansion, looking to dramatically increase its unrestricted private fundraising and scale up the funds raised across the UK and Europe. To do this; International Medical Corps UK have embarked on an ambitious strategy to grow the fundraising income, to hit ambitious targets for growth.
JOB PURPOSE
. International Medical Corps UK is seeking a Supporter Relationship (Fundraising) Officer for an exciting position tasked with building and developing relationships with lower value individuals (giving & fundraising), trusts & foundations and corporates
· Within this role you will build and maintain relationships, focusing on the mass and personal approach across all channels to identify areas of growth to grow and maximise income

· You will work with the Director to suggest how the organisation will develop private fundraising in the future, and appropriate levels of income based on strategic plan produced
Critical Objectives
· Develop, co-ordinate, implement and evaluate fundraising mechanics and manage fundraising projects on a mass and personal approach to generate donations from lower value individuals (giving & fundraising), trusts & foundations and corporates
· Meet or exceed an agreed annual revenue goal for International Medical Corps UK
· Build working relationships with communications and other International Medical Corps UK staff
· Provide extensive support managing and overseeing Raisers Edge (the database) across Fundraising & Communications
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising mechanism and projects
· Systematically manage lower value individuals (giving & raising), trusts and foundations and corporate partnerships, suggesting ways to build on these relationships, maximising engagement and income.
· Routinely identify and approach individual (giving & raising), trusts and foundations and corporate partnership prospects, securing financial contributions and support.
· Promote and market International Medical Corps UK events (where appropriate).
· Coordinate the production of fundraising collateral to support maximising engagement and income from lower value individuals (giving & raising), trusts and foundations and corporate partnerships.
· Contribute new ideas for fundraising and identify suitable funding initiatives, calls for proposals etc
Data management
· Logically manage the International Medical Corps UK database, ensuring cleanliness and imports of all new contacts and correspondence.
· Lead on preparation of relevant analytical fundraising reporting from the database to the Director.
· Provide guidance on data segmentation and monitoring of fundraising and communication activities to supporters.
· Work alongside Finance to implement and improve processes as well as monthly reconciliation.
Working with Communications
· Develop and implement an effective programme of awareness and participative support of fundraising for supporters of International Medical Corps UK.
· Contribute to the production of communication collateral e.g. the Annual Review and Newsletter, including writing copy and supporter stories.
· Ensure the website fundraising information is up to date.
· Contribute to identifying stories to demonstrate impact, photographs and information from the field for fundraising purposes.
Support to International Medical Corps Staff
· Alongside the Director guide, develop and coach staff with fundraising approaches with lower value individuals (giving & raising), trusts and foundations and corporate partnerships.
· Play an active role as the face of Fundraising within the organisation
Other task
· Undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post.
· Encourage people to support the International Medical Corps UK.
PERSON SPECIFRICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Significant front-line experience identifying, cultivating and asking high-net-worth individuals, family trusts & foundations, corporates and planned giving/legacies
- Strong experience in front line fundraising from high-net-worth individuals, family trusts & foundations, corporates and planned giving/legacies, and proven achievement of goals
- Successful experience closing significant gift commitments
- Ability to develop trust and strong collaborative working relationships
- Experience in international development and relief strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide oversight, leadership, and strategic direction
- Superior presentation skills, including the presence to deal effectively with diverse constituencies including key leadership and staff in the field
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, and to listen, and an unusual capacity to engage, inspire and persuade
- A self-starter with the ability to build systems that will have a long-term impact on the organization. Must have an entrepreneurial and creative approach to problem-solving, and the ability to take advantage of emerging opportunities
- A high level of energy, self-confidence, and a positive “can-do” attitude are essential, as is humility;
